TEAM

Jennifer Michalicek

Founder & CEO

As a transplant to Texas from California, I have a lifelong love for movement and dance. Being  led to pilates and barre was transformational. I fell in love with the whole-body workout that pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me stronger both physically and mentally. The inspiration for opening The Pilates Haus came from wanting to create an artistic space that offers a wide range of wellness and movement for all.

As a professional esthetician and holistic massage therapist, I have previous experience working with and founding businesses focused on wellness, health and helping people feel good from the inside out.

Creating an esthetics spa and then a plant-based food prep business from the ground up solidified my general business skills in management, marketing, human resources, special events, and finance.

I understand the importance of supporting and giving back to the community and look forward to providing learning opportunities for clients, staff, and our neighborhood by giving everyone the chance to thrive through pilates.

Leah Shadle

Founder & Master Instructor

Taking my first Pilates class in 2016 was life-changing for me, mentally and physically. Beginning at a local studio in my small California hometown, I fell in love with the movement and the mind-body connection it provided me. Feeling determined to make it a part of my life in a bigger capacity, I enrolled in instructor training, eventually leaving behind a 10-year cosmetology career to pursue instructing full-time.

I have been an avid Pilates practitioner for eight years and a dedicated instructor for six. I hold a Comprehensive Pilates Apparatus certification and an American College of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer certification, and I will complete my Dietetics degree in 2025.

Opening The Pilates Haus represents a commitment to share my passion and appreciation for the Pilates movement and bring something unique to the North Texas area. I take traditional Pilates moves and reinvent them with creative flows and challenging combinations, all paired to upbeat music.

Erica Shaye

Instructor

I am a Texas native with a deep passion for self-discovery and self-mastery. My journey with Pilates began in 2014, when my very first class opened my eyes to the difference between fitness and wellness. What started out purely physical ignited something spiritual, propelling me down a transformative path I would have never envisioned.

Today, as a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, my education spans classical and contemporary methods, complemented by training in corrective exercise, integrative movement, and prenatal/postnatal fitness. With over a decade of experience as an instructor, I take pride in fostering a safe space for inner exploration that stimulates growth, inspires confidence, and empowers excellence.

My teaching style is heavily influenced by my understanding of the human psyche and love for personal development.

With me, you can bank on meticulous language, evocative music selections, and a resonant tone, motivating you to push your boundaries and strive for nothing less than your personal best.

Ashley Mitchell

Instructor

Having grown up as a competitive dancer in Houston, I developed a passion for fitness at a young age. I obtained my B.S. in Kinesiology and Health Education from The University of Texas where I studied Exercise Physiology and pre-physical therapy studies. Shortly after, I moved to Dallas to work in one of Dallas’ most renown Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation clinics. Pilates and Barre have consistently been my favorite forms of exercise because of many overlapping similarities between physical therapy and dance concepts.

After expanding my work experience among multiple medical settings in the years to follow, I decided to pursue my 500 hour comprehensive Pilates certification just prior to my husband and I finding out that we were pregnant with our first son. I continued my Pilates teacher training throughout the entirety of my pregnancy, which I believe has been instrumental to my own success through my pregnancy and postpartum health.

ln every class I teach, I design the flow around the purpose behind the movement, while incorporating music with a strong beat so you will leave more energized than when you walked in!
